The Cumbria Constabulary had noticed an increase in the number of people accessing their website using a mobile device over the past year. So they asked hydrant to create a mobile version of the site that is specifically designed to be viewed on a small screen. Now, when a person visits cumbria.police.uk from a mobile device, they will be automatically be redirected to the mobile version.
The site enables residents to find details about their local officers or upcoming community meetings while on the go. It also allows them to connect with their Neighbourhood Policing Teams through social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook directly from their mobile phones. And, using the new online traffic service, motorists can easily find out about delays or road closures due to weather, collisions, roadworks or police incidents and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
