The challenge
The client’s existing site was simply not fit for purpose. It required specialist skills to update product information which meant that even simple updates to product prices involved loading the whole catalogue and could take several days to complete.
It was critical that the site was able to effectively and efficiently convey to customers the range of products, the product function and the technical information needed to make a purchasing decision alongside the key element of pricing and volume discounts. It was equally important to ensure the back office administration was streamlined and easy to use.

The solution
We developed a back-office solution using Magento that integrated with Romar’s operational and financial systems allowing easy product uploads and updates that can be done individually or in batches. We provided training sessions for staff on the new system and continue to offer support and site maintenance.
As well as improving the back-office experience for Romar staff the new site offers an improved user experience. The new site has a simple and effective design with improved signposting and search, enabling users to quickly find individual products, and offers an option to “meet the manufacturer’ by means of a direct link where further product advice is needed.
